Building flying model helicopters is a really interesting and challenging hobby.

Building model helicopters which actually fly is a lot of fun. Experimenting with different kinds of model to see which flies best or which will fly highest or furthest can provide hours of interesting flying.

There are only a few plans for model helicopters to be found, compared to the thousands available for model airplanes. At our website you will find free plans for two flying model helicopters which are free to download.

The first plan is a relatively modern plan for a rubber band powered helicopter model dating from from the 1950s. This interesting model is fairly easy to build and really flies very well.

The second model is an early plan from about the turn of the twentieth century, long before any real helicopters had been built, or even planned, and flight was still in its very early stages. This model looks nothing like a modern helicopter but was made to demonstrate the principles on which helicopters are based. It also flies very well.
