Nostalgic 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's items
Are you looking to reclaim your youth? Let me help you retrieve all the stuff you lost as a kid! Your old lunch box, your favorite Pez Dispenser, the Etch a Sketch you threw at your older brothers forehead.
It wasn't that long ago that I went back to my mom's house to rummage through all of my old toys and things that I loved when I was a kid. I was shocked to find out that my mom had sold most of my stuff in a garage sale trying to raise money for her hip replacement surgery, Ack!!! As if that is more important than my collection of vintage Duncan Yo-Yos! Ha! The nerve of her, as if a new hip is more important than a vintage Duncan Yo-Yo.
Turns out she also gave away my old tin robot, my original Slinky toy, my marble collection and all of my old space toys to the snot-nosed neighbor kid. Uhg! How can a grown person live without his trusty old cap gun? And is the world truly safe without the protection of plastic army men?
Well that was all the inspiration I needed to relocate all those nostalgic toys from my past. After a few trips to the hardware store and several MacGyver style epiphanies I was well on my way to solving the troubling feeling that my childhood was lost. Adding insult to injury was knowing how valuable many of these items have become over the years. Metal lunch boxes selling for thousands of dollars, a Pez collection that sent a man through med school, a Slinky that was so rare it was inducting into the Smithsonian Institute, and a Yo-Yo that was sold on eBay where the profits fed and entire African village for 13 years. These stories could have been about me! Had I only taken better care of my stuff. Yet all seemed lost. Check out all the treasures I have found and am willing to share with you!!
