When you buy a ProForm treadmill, you get more for your money than you do with many other budget machines. For example, the Performance 400 treadmill usually sells for around $599 with shipping. That’s not a lot of money for a cardio machine, and many treadmills in this price range simply are not very durable, nor do they come with a lot of extras. The Performance 400, however, comes with a 2.25 HP motor, a 20” x 55” running surface, a decent sound system with an MP3 docking station, 15 workout programs, workout tracking through Nike+, and it is iFit Live compatible. This treadmill is backed by a 25-year motor warranty and one-year parts and labor warranties. (Those are much better warranties than many budget machines get, which says something about the quality of the Performance 400!)

One thing Icon Fitness focuses on when making treadmills is innovative technology to motivate users. Such unique, innovative features set ProForm treadmills apart from other budget brands. One of the unique features found on ProForm machines is iFit technology.
With iFit, you get a series of programs that control speed, incline, and duration of each workout. Each program includes audio coaching and motivation by a professional trainer. Each program is designed for different levels of fitness and different fitness goals, including weight loss, body shaping, wellness, and endurance.
iFit Live is the newest addition to iFit technology, which allows your treadmill to communicate with the internet through Wi-Fi. After creating your personal profile online, you’ll get customized workout programs downloaded onto your treadmill and designed to meet your fitness goals. You’ll also get audio coaching by professional trainers. iFit Live will track your progress in your online account.
iFit Live also lets you interact with Google Maps to define trails or roadways on which you wish to run or walk. This technology can simulate hills and valleys using the incline feature. You can also get street, map, or satellite views of the chosen routes. To top it off, ProForm also sponsors races in which you may compete with other runners using iFit Live.
