I'm generally cautious recommending treadmills below $800. For a budget treadmill, the ProForm 590T is a pretty good buy, and in general ProForm treadmills are some of the best budget machines. It has its limitations, of course; but it is one of the better treadmills in the $599 price range. This machine should be used primarily for walking. It simply is not durable enough to withstand the high speeds and constant pounding of runners.
Features that you will find on the ProForm 590T treadmill include:
iFit Technology- a nice feature for such an inexpensive treadmill. The 590T is set up for iFit workout cards, which are sold separately. Each card contains a series of progressive workouts that focus on different fitness goals, such as weight loss and body sculpting.
2.25 Continuous Duty HP Motor- This motor is perfectly suitable for walking, and may be powerful enough for lightweight joggers, but it certainly is not suitable for running. It does come with a 25-year warranty, which isn’t bad!
12 Quick™ Calorie-Burn Workouts- a new ProForm feature that allows you to choose one of twelve programs based on how many calories you want to burn. The treadmill then automatically adjusts the speed, incline, and workout time to meet your goal.
Speakers with iPod Input- perhaps not the greatest quality speakers, but a nice convenience to have when you enjoy listening to music during exercise sessions. It beats wearing headphones as you work!
20” x 55” Treadbelt- a comfortable size for walkers; however, it may be a bit confining for taller users and joggers.

If you compare the ProForm 590T treadmill with other budget models, you’ll find the 590T typically comes out ahead. It’s a pretty good buy for individuals who are on a limited budget and who are looking for just a walking machine.
