TaylorMade Golf Clubs--Choosing The Right Set

TaylorMade golf clubs are one of the top brands available. Of advanced design, they are available in a variety of styles to suit
any golfers needs. Taylormade clubs are used by great professionals, as well as amateur players, to enable them to play at their
best. Golfers of years past would certainly be amazed by the golf clubs in use today.

Specialty drivers which have oversized
heads are commonly used by many players, and they look quite bizarre compared to "woods" of earlier days which were much smalle,
and actually made from real wood and not titanium, steel or some other metal. The maximum size of the drivers head is a volume
of 460ccs by SPGA rules, and a club head of around this size is undoubtedly a benefit, for most amateur players. The early golf
clubs had hefty wooden shafts made from hickory wood, which were very rigid with no play in them.

Modern golf club shafts are made from steel, or graphite, and are more slender than early clubs. Graphite shafts have "whip",
and flex quite a bit during a shot. These flexible shafts fit some peoples style, whilst others may prefer
the more rigid steel shaft. Oversize heads of modern drivers allow a bigger "sweet spot", which will compensate for some
inaccuracy in a swing.

The sweet spot is at center of the club head, where it contacts the ball. An oversize driver is certainly not a cure-all
for a poor swing. But it provides a small area to contact the ball, which is better than just a point on the club face. Some
modern drivers come with adjustable club heads, which can be adjusted just by a turn of a screw. The angle of the club face,
or of the sole can be varied considerably to suit the players preference.

Irons do not have these adjustable features, but most are of very different design to clubs of earlier periods. A golf
pro or sales assistant can study the stroke of a player, and advise on which types of clubs are best for any particular player.

Modern golf irons are made to help compensate for some problems which are common in playing golf. Offset irons are designed
to help to compensate for slicing, and wide soles on the heads help to put some loft onto the ball. A considerable choice of
iron designs is available, and once more the advice of a pro, or good sales person, will find the right clubs to match your
style. If you are having problems with your irons, it could be that you are using a set of irons which are not well matched
for your type of play. Getting irons which are right for you could chop some strokes off your game.

Changes to the rules allow some quite strange looking putter designs now. These putters are forgiving of poor
strokes, and will help most amateurs a lot. Right handed players commonly miss putts to the left side of the hole. This
results from closing the putter too much toward the hole, and face balanced putters were designed to compensate for this error. If
you most often putts to the left, you will find that one of these face balanced putters will improve your putting noticeably and will cut strokes
from your total.
