Founded in 1906 by brothers Rihachi and Rizo Mizuno of Osaka, the shop originally only sold baseballs, plus some miscellaneous Western items. Mizuno quickly grew into a respected designer and purveyor of quality athletic wear and equipment, keeping the ideals of true sportsmanship front and center through its evolution. Its corporate philosophy, "Contributing to society through the advancement of sporting goods and the promotion of sports," is reflected not just in their output, but in their keen support of worldwide sporting events at all levels of play. Mizuno have always prided themselves on using cutting edge technology and research geared towards creating the best possible product. To this day, Mizuno shoes are initially designed using irons forged in the same manner as samurai swords, making for a perfect melding of ancient and modern styles.
