We regretfully need to rehome our 2 1/2 year old Basset Hound, Maggie. We got her about a year ago from a couple in Ashland. She is a very sweet dog with a good disposition, who would never harm a fly. She is great with other dogs and good with cats, although she will chase them for fun if they run! She is great with children and tolerates them climbing all over her and loving on her. When we got Maggie she had been an outdoor dog and we thought we could turn her into an indoor dog, however she had other ideas about that! She likes to run and run outside and unfortunately we cannot have a fence where we live, so she is only able to be out on a leash. She would prefer to be outside all day, and would love to live with other dogs as she previously did, I think she misses the company. We are gone alot during the day and I think she gets lonely all by herself! She needs a home with a large fenced yard, or a lot of property, as she will get a scent with her hound nose and take off! She always comes back eventually! When we got her she had many dental problems, wasn't up to date on her shots, wasn't spayed, and wasn't licensed. We have taken care of all of these issues and she is healthy and happy! She is current on her rabies shot and is licensed. She is crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night, if you don't put her in her crate she will wake you up every 20 minutes because she wants to be outside! She is a pure breed, and can be registered with the National Kennel Association. She originally comes from a breeder and I have all of her papers. She is also microchipped.
