Here's a really cool way to break up with a girlfriend. When I was a young man living in England I had this really lovely girlfriend and we got on well.
Anyway, after being with her for about one year I decided to go back to my own country because I was feeling a little homesick and was missing my family.
I told her I would come back to her but I would have to stay in my country until I earned enough money for my airfare to go back to her.
However, it took a lot longer for me to do this in reality and she couldn't wait any longer, so she went and found herself another boyfriend.
Her Mum, who I got on with really well wrote me a very nice letter explaining everything and made it a lot easier for me to understand her daughters reasons for wanting to move on and for me to get over my loss.
And because of this consideration and somewhat unusual approach from her Mum, I'm sure it helped me recover more quickly!
In this particular situation, I think this was the best way to break up with my girlfriend.
