An excellent choice for removing some difficult stains from your rug is lemon juice. Lemon juice will dissove ugly rust stains quickly and completely making it easy to wipe them out of the carpet.
How To Use Lemon Juice To Remove Stains
Get a bottle of natural lemon juice from a grocery store. This is faster and easier to use than fresh lemons, but you could squeeze the juice from a lemon if you wish to. Take a close look at the label on the lemon juice bottle to be absolutely certain that it is only pure lemon juice and has no added ingerdients. There is often a preservative added but this is safe to use and will not damage the rug.
Pour some of the lemon juice in a trigger spray bottle and spray generously on the stain. Try not to soak right through the carpet into the underlying pad, but be sure to apply a generous quantity of the lemon juice.
Leave sitting undisturbed for 10 to 15 minutes or even longer if necessary in order to provide enough time for the stain to be well dissolved.
Next blot the liquid from the carpet by using clean white paper towels and remove as much liquid as you can.
