Miniature gas engines are great models to make. Any model craftsman who can operate a metal turning lathe can make one and see it run which is always a thrill. Gasoline engines are precision built so you need to have good lathe working capabilities. They run just like the big engines using miniature spark plugs for ignition.

The smallest engines which weigh only a few ounces have enough power to operate a model airplane or race car. Bigger models including twin cylinder types can develop 1/4 horse power or more and will easily power very large radio controlled model airplanes.
