Pimple scars are marks left on the skin after a pimple has cleared. A scar can be the result of permanent skin damage, caused when pimples are squeezed, picked, or otherwise irritated. When this happens, the wound in the underlying area deepens, and the infection spreads.
The sebaceous glands are located throughout the entire body, and secrete sebum, which is a lubricant for the hair and skin. If the pores of the skin become blocked, and secretion of sebum continues behind the blockage, the pores will eventually become enlarged.
