Is it as good as the rave about it?
This is my honest experience as a user plus the experiences of other friends.
For Fiction book lovers, this is amazing because of the linear reading method (read from page one to the end, one page at a time).
For Students, academicians, who do not necessarily linear read but jump from section to section and not one page at a time, it is not completely text book friendly. This version has a better PDF support but the small screen is a minus for reading some pdf materials that will not fit the screen.
It is small, light and inexpensive (the smaller the better is the fad), when compared to I pad.
Page-turns are probably quicker than turning a physical page in a printed book but be prepared for more page-turns unless you choose a small font).
The contrast is better than previous versions, the Nook, Sony Readers and I pad, hence less eye strain in a well lit room or direct sunlight but it is at par with a printed book.
Compared to a poorly lit room, I prefer a paper copy book in terms of eye strain.
Also I noticed a glare when a lamp is positioned behind my head because of the glass covering the screen is reflective and creates the glare...
