There are rumors that Amazon is coming out with a new e-reader that will compete with the color tablets on the market. The price for this new reader has been also rumored at somewhat less than $300. This will be a game changer and if you want color and more features that the new tablets are coming out with, as well as the iPad, then I would wait for Amazon's new device whether it is only a reader or a full tablet know one knows at this point.
I like reading paperback novels but my old eyes do appreciate the added contrast and capability to change the size of the type in the Kindle. We are going to keep the $114 Kindle for reading, it is just enough lighter to make it a much preferred device for reading than any of the tablets tried out so far. Once one gets used to the Kindle it is lighter than a lot of books and easier to handle than a paperback.
