I am sold on the Nook as my ereader. Although none of the ereaders have a usb port, the Nook has a mini SD port which allows an additional 32gB of memory. I like to surf the web in color and its screen is second to none. * EPUB (including Non or Adobe DRM) * PDF * Other documents: XLS, DOC, PPT, PPS, TXT, DOCM, XLSM,PPTM, PPSX, PPSM, DOCX, XLX, PPTX * Graphics: JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP * Audio: MP3, AAC * Video: MP4 * 8GB built in mem (6000 books) * MicroSD slot add a 32GB microSD card and drastically increase storage capacity * 169 pixels per inch (= better picture quality than the other guy) * Social networking * Kids books with color and audio * Pandora internet radio * Quickoffice software * The lendme feature
The Kindle is actually a little bit better in reading ebooks due to its black and white screen, but it only has a limited web browser, and I would rather surf in color. Never the less it is an excellent choice to go along with your Nook, if only for reading. Purchasing a Kindle along with the Nook would still be less than the cost of a new iPad.
The iPad does everything well but it does not have the capability to plug in extra memory. This makes it unusable for me in my work since I like to inspect the pictures I take for work along with going through my personal pictures. Mainly it is just more expensive to operate over the long haul. It is an excellent device and you wont go wrong if you do buy it. | | | | | | | | | | | |
