When it comes to issues about the environment today, it is easy to
become overwhelmed. Global warming, pollution, oil spills, smog - are
words that strike panic and alarm to many advocates of green living and
preservation of environment. However, to be able to address these issues
means everybody has to do their share because cooperation and
discipline are the simple keys to make a difference even in simple ways.
Here are some easy suggestions to start making a difference and begin
living a more environmentally friendly life.

Recycle. Recycling materials is important because it reduces waste being
dumped into landfills. Products made from certain plastic, metal, glass
and paper can be sold or brought to recycling companies. Consider
building a compost heap so that you can recycle left-over food and
kitchen waste into mineral-rich compost to use on plants and veggies.

Reuse things that can be used again like plastic bags. Plastic bags do
not degrade easily so it is best to use them again. They can be used
again when going to the grocery or shopping. In this way, those bags
will not add to the garbage in garbage dumps.

Buy things that are made and grown locally. Buying locally grown,
organic and in season produce cuts down gas emissions, energy, fuel,
transportation, and packaging costs. Planting a vegetable garden is also
an inexpensive way to obtain fresh, pesticide-free food that has not
been transported hundreds of miles to reach the grocery stores.

Time and again, it has always been said; if your work or school is close
to your home, it is much better to walk, bike, carpool, or take the
bus. Walking is a good way to exercise and save some cash. If you need
to bring your car, make sure to check it is in good condition and won't
cause smoke belching that will pollute the air. Also, consider investing
in a more fuel-efficient car when you do drive.

Use renewable resources when decorating you house. Many manufacturers
today use materials rapidly renewable resources when making furniture,
floorings and many more. These can not only help the environment but
there are also aesthetically pleasing and are comparable to high end
decorations

Wash clothes in cold water as much as possible and hang them to dry in
the sun. Practically nothing can compare with the fresh clean smell of
clothes plus the UV rays from the sun are perfect for killing germs you
can't obtain from washing machines. In this way you can save energy and
money as dryers are among the home appliances that eat up a lot of
electricity.

Try using solar panels or wind turbines for homes. Solar panel uses the
power of the sun to produce energy while residential windmills transform
wind energy to electric energy. After installation, both are very easy
to maintain. These will not only greatly decrease your dependence on
electric companies and also help reduce fossil fuel burned by electric
companies.Find out more about <a
