Border Guard (aka Fence Jumper)(20"HX15”WX10"D). A fantasy animal of welded metal. This static fantasy "bird" has a galactic rider, with side arms, and feathers of individually welded metal strips.
This is a piece of original art made by Robert Maker (1944-1993). Other examples of his work are available at the link listed below.
The Border Guard may be viewed at the Santa Fe NM Travelers Market. It is the Second Site for the annual Ethnographic shows in mid-August.
