Why do Gemstone Picks contribute to tone?

We receive many comments about our gemstone picks giving a different tone immediately. They compliment a brighter sound, a mellow sound, an acoustic with much more volume.

It's not a science. First of all gemstones will not absorb vibration so the guitar is forced to resonate longer. Thinner picks tend to make an acoustic sound brighter. Medium or thicker picks will give an acoustic a louder voice somewhat deeper and when you are using an electric all the gloves come off. You use what feels good. I prefer a jazz size pick for my electric. It keeps my fingers close to the strings.
