Cross-stitch is counted on woven fabric. You count the threads in each direction so that the stitches are the same size x’s. Cross-stitch is also called counted cross-stitch. Cross-stitch is usually done on printed fabric (stamped cross-stitch). You simply cover the printed pattern by stitching over it.
