Email
marketing is a very effective method of advertising but it comes with a
few pitfalls that many beginning marketers fall prey to. Email
advertising is often considered spam by those that receive it and is
flagged as such and many email companies now report this offense to the
sender’s server. This can cause the marketer to be banned from their
own server.
The best way to keep from having your marketing emails marked as spam
is to generate a safe list. Get people to sign up for your emails by
putting sign up boxes on your websites, or having them click a link to
join an email group allowing you to send them useful information that
they can benefit from. The key to successful email sign ups is offering
the prospective customer more than simply ad content in the emails they
will receive. Whether it is a few lines of consumer tips, or a valuable
coupon or other information those types of emails will be happily
received, and since they signed up to get them they cannot be
considered spam.
Another very important aspect to keep your email marketing program
legitimate is to provide an opt out link at the bottom of each and
every email. This gives the receiver the ability to stop the emails
without reporting them to their servers, and if they do report them,
the opt out link gives you valid argument for not being held
responsible or having any actions taken against you for perceived spam. Visit Safelist : Permission Email Marketing
