|I use the practicality of natural horsemanship to get the competitive edge of successful horse showing. But if showing is not for you, that's fine too. My techniques are used to create the ideal relationship between you and your horse. I have studied all the greats of the natural horsemanship world - Ray Hunt, Pat Parelli, John Lyons, Clinton Anderson, and more to create a program that deals primarily in "more with less". No abuse, just respect. I want to teach you the language of the horse, to instill patience, and to correct those perfectionist tendencies.|
I also want to employ practicality in our training. I want to take you where you want to go - and not get stuck on the "hokie western cliche" that some people might assume natural horsemanship is. Whatever your desired discipline is, I take skills and techniques from all aspects of the horse world. Like using Dressage movements to improve Western pleasure, as several skills can be applied towards a number of disciplines. Your horse will be well-rounded and capable of doing things beyond his singular job. He will be more confident, willing, and respectful. You will be partners first, champions second.
I mainly deal in stock breeds, but I may take other breeds depending on the situation. I specialize in Western pleasure, horsemanship, trail, English pleasure, Equitation, and showmanship, and I have experience in other areas. I do not deal in hunter/jumpers at this time.
My name is Sarah Hoffman, originally from Dallas, TX. I have helped run my family's paint horse breeding/training facility for many years. I grew up riding traditional English until I came across "natural horsemanship". Ever since then, I have studied these techniques in a variety of ways. I find that these techniques are more long-lasting, kinder, and build more respect than traditional methods. I hope to employ these techniques in a way that more and more show horses can be successful with. I have shown APHA and APtHA at Regional, National, and World levels, but I also enjoy the open show circuit.
