I am doing this for an elderly neighbor who can't look after his beautiful Lab mix. (Dog name is Gary)
This dog has gone through a lot in the past 3 years. Group of neighbors have helped with caring/walking Gary but since owner looking to move and can't take care of Gary, neighbors cant no longer help out.. He lives with his owner currently but the owner is not capable of looking after him. His owner contemplated taking him to a shelter where Gary would not survive. I have personally taken care of Gary and he is so sweet and just wants a companion.
He is very sweet and mellow and has lived with a mini pinscher for almost a year and got along very well. However, I do need to say that with certain dogs outside on leash, he does not get along with. Maybe its because of the leash and a territorial thing (?) or becuase he hasnt been properly socialized for many years. With dogs he has met before (like mine) he is very good with and even plays with them.
Gary needs a new home with someone who can give him excersice (needs to lose a few pounds) AND the life he deserves. If you do have another dog, we can set up a time to meet and see how they get along. Not a problem.
