You find yourself in prison, what's most important to you? You want to know that you haven’t been forgotten. Some inmates haven’t received a letter or a visitor for ten years or longer. That's here the body of Christ steps in.

God Cares We Care matches inmates with believers who become their Pen Friend” and send them “Paper Sunshine” (letters) As a nationwide ministry we currently serve prisoners in 38 states, and have believers writing from 43 states. Prisons are a mission field that’s ready to be harvested, and God is looking for believers that are willing do His work.

You might be thinking, “Okay, but is this really safe? First, all inmate letters go through our post office box, so the inmate never knows your actual address. Plus we read every inmate letter to insure that they're following our rules for writing. So it's 100% safe. Jesus said in Matthew chapter 25: "If you've done this (reached out to a prisoner), you've done it to me. He didn't say that it's like you did it to Him, but that you've done it the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.

There’s always a waiting list of inmates who want to be matched, so we need both male and female Pen Friends. Will you respond to the Lord's call?
