How Not To Make Money In Network Marketing Without a doubt, the franchise is one of the best systems for business on the planet. For a price, a business owner can purchase access to the name, training and products of a company, and sell their goods as part of that company. But have you ever been to a restaurant that was simply terrible ? it was unclean, the food wasn’t fresh and you were treated poorly ? of course you have. Here’s the problem: just because you had a sub par experience at one particular restaurant did you swear off that chain forever ? I’m willing to bet not; because, even subconsciously, you knew that all the restaurant s of that brand were not like the one you just experienced. This is the quandary of a franchise: good or bad, all the locations of a brand are grouped together-though they can be quite different. Whether it was a corporate store or owned by a franchisee isn’t really the point- there are pluses and minuses to both. The point is your experience with that brand will now be forever altered-despite all the other stores in existence that are doing a wonderful job. Network marketing is a similar concept. People often have a bad experience with either a company or a person that turned them off to network marketing. Often the case was a well-meaning person who was perhaps a little too pushy or didn't convey the information properly or approach someone correctly-and thus someone is left scarred for years ( and in this I'm not exaggerating-though it sounds like I should be ) because of a poor experience they've had with network marketers. I have a friend who , though I'd never asked him to join my company , buy anything , or otherwise be involved in any way in my business but who often questioned the industry and opportunity, with no concrete reasons besides the usual " My dad looked at Amway 25 years ago and well, some of the people that got into it lost their money. " No kidding ! That's what happens in business ! There are no guarantees when going into business for yourself, and there's no guarantee you are everyone is going to make money in network marketing, particularly if the proper attention is not applied. Anyone who's started any kind of business knows this. Also, a lot of those people who stayed with that company are millionaires and retired today-while his dad is still working a full work week HOPING to retire in another ten years or so. So... Make Money In Network Marketing ? It's Not For Everybody There are certain guarantees if you decide to work for someone else and not take chances the rest of your life: you WILL work lots of hours, WILL let someone else tell you when you can and cannot go on vacations or take a day off, and you WILL allow someone else to determine your worth for you , and you WILL NOT retire until at least 55, if not your 60's and 70's these days. That's okay for some people, but not everyone wants that. To abbreviate a long story, this friend of mine had a poor experience with someone in network marketing 8 years prior to our having that conversation. Eight years he'd held onto this encounter and decided every MLM company, opportunity, and person involved was going to be the same since. In contrast , have you ever been bitter about a poor encounter at McDonald's or perhaps a shopping mall years later? I hope not; it is because we are dealing with people that makes this sort of thing possible and allows people to paint the industry with such a broad brush they believe they can pigeon hole everyone into the same category. So how can you make money in network marketing? By standing out-being different in the way you approach your business and the way you approach other people. First, to make money in network marketing takes one looking at their opportunity as a business, not a hobby. This means developing a business plan-how you're going to market, what you're budget is going to be , how to take advantage of tax credits from your home business, how you're going to scale it ( that's right- it's possible to come out ahead in your biz-essentially make money in network marketing without ever producing a sale) etc. Yet it amazes me how few people even take the time for these steps for essential business planning. In other words, if you don't have a business plan, you're not serious and want to make money in network marketing. And if you're not serious that means you're just playing around right ? Second-make your approach stand out from all the noise the person out there already sees every day. You don't need to do street presentations or try to to enroll people in your company right away every time you meet someone who might be a good prospect. Sometime less information is more. What I'm about to share with you is what I call "The million dollar approach" because it's used by people who are literally millionaires in this industry -and because it's going to shock you in it's simplicity. The trick to this is after you ask this question be on your way-don't dilly dally around or you risk saying too much . Curiosity is a good thing ! After receiving some one's information , make plans to follow up, and be on your way. Otherwise you risk defeating your own efforts. So try this the next time you meet a prospect and have engaged in conversation with them, felt them out a little; simply pay them a genuine complement ( obviously you are going to be doing this with someone you would want in your business so it shouldn't be too hard) then ask "Would you be interested in making some extra income if it didn't interfere with what you're already doing?"
