Desperate to make money, Jeff McGee got a job as a truck driver rather than pursuing a job in his field of study. At first he didn't make much money, but one thing led to another, and he now works in the more "specialized" field of moving semi-trucks. The benefits are better, the pay is better - and he loves his work.
Don't assume that you can't make much money in a certain field because of what you know as the industry norm. Working in a specialized and sometimes lesser-known niche can pay significantly more. Plus, there may be great benefits to the work, especially if you own your own company and can tailor your work to the lifestyle you want to live. Even trucking.
