The blower motor in your air conditioner system is used to push cool air into your home. Like any electrical component, the blower motor is vital to getting your home to a comfortable temperature; however, it can have some problems. Issues like humming sounds, no cold air, and inconsistent running are some signs that you might experience.
Most modern furnaces use a direct drive blower motor. A belt drive blower motor is similar to the direct drive in testing and diagnosis; however, the replacement process is different.
If you believe your blower motor is bad, begin diagnosing by shutting off the power to the furnace. Attempt to spin the wheel freely. If it doesn't spin freely, apply oil in ports of the blower motor. It will need to be replaced if it does not spin freely after lubricating. Along with the wheel, the run capacitor, wiring, and the wellness of the motor could all be signs of replacing a blower motor.
