Birchy Lake is in the western section of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. More specifically, it’s between the towns of Springdale and Deer Lake.
Birchy Lake is approximately 8 km-(5 miles) long, and 1.6 km-(1 mile) wide at its greatest breadth. Also, it’s 90m–(295 ft) above sea level.
Birchy Lake joins the larger Sandy Lake at a junction called ‘The Narrows’. The Trans Canada Highway-(TCH-Route 1) crosses a bridge at that point.
These very picturesque lakes, and the area in general, with their mountains, rivers, falls, and wildlife are a photographer's, hunters, and fisherman’s paradise.
It’s also an excellent area for sailing and boating.
