Little Horseman’s – One of Sweet Home Stables more popular lesson programs, starting children as young as 3! Learning the proper behavior, etiquette, and basic horsemanship skills gives younger children an edge when they go on to riding. Your children will learn how to behave around horses, proper barn etiquette, and basic knowledge of horse care. It is a very fun and interactive hour for these kids, as they do anything and everything from picking a stall, learning how to feed a horse, grooming, picking feet, haltering, leading, and much more! Little Thunder, our resident miniature pony, is a delight for the kids, and standing at only 38”, is less intimidating for the children. He loves treats and attention, and has more of a dog-like personality, which thrills the kids and boosts their confidence around horses before graduating onto riding lessons. At graduation your child will receive a certificate as well as a ribbon, and are encouraged to move up to riding lessons. $20
Kid’s beginner riding lessons – Jack is our lovely, sweet natured POA gelding. He stands right around 12HH and is a great starter pony for the smaller kids to learn from. He has a very forgiving nature, and loves to snuggle. He has shown 4H and local open shows, and has been in the ribbons more times than not, placing in Western Pleasure, Halter and showmanship, and speed events. He is also able to do English disciplines, he is very fancy! $25
Teen/adult beginner riding lessons – Tonto is our “lazy as the day is long” tri colored paint gelding. He is very relaxed, and would as soon stand around then move, so he is great for beginners. He goes Western and English.
Intermediate and advanced riding lessons – Hank is a 6 year old OTTB gelding. He was a race horse in his younger years, so does have more pep in his step. Has never offered to buck, rear, or bolt but does best with a confident rider. He is sweet- natured, but has his moments. Hank primarily rides English, but has gone Western.
