These Babydoll Southdown Sheep are a proven mated pair in their youth. If you are not familiar with this breed of sheep, they are very cute, even tempered, and offer possibilities as both wool and meat sheep. This pair is approximately 4 years old and are not registered. They come to our family farm via a petting zoo where they were hand fed by visitors. This year, the ewe had a very easy birth of one lamb, but in future years she could easily have two and is a great mother. We were told that she also had one lamb, a ewe, last year. The ram is four, is large darker in color and gorgeous. He is bonded to the ewe and they are rarely apart. The ram was quite patient with the lamb, who would occasionally play king on the ram which was fun to watch.

We have been raising these sheep naturally and as organically as possible with no medications. The ram is docked, the ewe is not. We are hoping to find a farm for this pair to thrive on. They have been recently sheared and have had their hooves trimmed as well. They have all their teeth, nice and white. They are in good health, are great with other farm animals and domestic pets, take basic commands and will follow you. Their wool is quite beautiful. This pair should be in their prime in a few years. They will have a lot of beautiful wool and lambs in their future in the right setting. They typically can lamb into their 12th year, are a hardy breed that grows and gains weight quickly, shearing once a year, and hoof management every three months or so. We supplement redmond salt with selenium sheep mix and sodium bicarb free choice, non-gmo feed and our property is as organic as possible.

We are available to meet you by appointment, please send an email. We are firm on the price for this pair of premium sheep, but may come down for the right buyer. The price is for both, and we'd prefer to sell them as a pair that will stay together. They usually lamb in March. It is possible that the ram could serve as a stud, we have not had that environment and are not growing a flock, but he is quite large and healthy. We are hoping to find a home before Fall and the coming of the wet weather but they are ready now. We are also interested and open to partial trade in home/farm tools or equipment. If you are interested in the sheep we are interested in accepting up to half the value in trade items that we genuinely could use. We can provide a list of things we are interested in and are open to your offers. Thanks for looking.
