For sale is a 1951 Martin Committee in raw brass. The serial number is 175XXX and according to production records this trumpet was manufactured circa 1951. This is a highly desired vintage for Martin Committee trumpets. This trumpet is very similar if not identical to some of the Martin Committees that Miles Davis played. It is a medium bore .451 with a very open blow and wide slots that are typical of Martin Committees. It is not the Deluxe model which means it is all brass without nickel trim and engraving. This actually gives the trumpet a darker sound.
I purchased this trumpet in 2012 and it was sealed and preserved in a heavy spray lacquer. The brass was in near prefect shape and the valves were in excellent almost new condition.
