Description:
Material Handling Technician is primarily responsible for the movement of raw and by-product materials and for the recovery of useable materials in the manufacture of activated carbon. Responsible for the packaging and shipping of product material produced at the plant. Maintain a neat and orderly Plant. Technician will report to the Plant Manager.
Understanding of how and when to blend materials based on product specifications with work in process materials at various production stages on the operating lines. Responsible for handling by-product and blending operations according to established manufacturing procedures. Maintain accurate and legible process records.
Responsible for Plant material handling and conveying, unloading of spent carbon trucks, packaging of final product and loading of trucks with final product. Responsible for knowledge of unit quality parameters, performance and product specifications and guidelines.
Performs general housekeeping and cleanup throughout the Plant, participates in housekeeping tours. Responsible for proactively identifying potential and current material spill problems and working with Maintenance and General Plant personnel to correct and / or prevent material loss.
Performs and assists with Preventive Maintenance activities: assists maintenance with mechanical repairs as required. Responsible for obtaining proper material samples as needed and performing specified in-process testing or submitting samples to the lab for testing. Maintaining complete and accurate records of waste recovery operations and inventory, as required. Verifies and calibrates various production and in-process testing equipment.
