I am selling an 18th century Colonial Slant Top Secretary Desk that has been in my family since my Grandmother purchased it in 1927. The desk is in very good condition. It has a fitted interior of small drawers and secret compartments. There are four graduated lower drawers and plain bracket feet. This heirloom desk is a true survivor of its period. It is unrestored. Never having been refinished, the original patina of the wood is intact. Additionally, all the hardware is the original period hardware which retains its original patina as well. The true craftsmanship is evident in the hand dovetailing and plank drawer bottoms with beveled edges and original plank backs. The only item of note is related to the keys for this desk. The original main key for the drawers and drop front is missing. However, the desk does come with the original key for the cubbyhole door. All locks are original, intact, and appear fully functional with the correct key. The measurements of the desk are 40.75" x 37" x 19.75".
All reasonable offers will be considered.
It is valued at $15000-20000 per listings I've seen for similar desks.
