On Sunday, September 29, 2013, Clara Maass Medical Center (CMMC) Foundation will be hosting LIFELINE CHALLENGE TO HEALTHY LIVING 5K Run and 2K Fun Walk to Help Prevent and Eliminate Obesity, at Essex County Turtle Back Zoo.
Recently, the American Medical Association recognized obesity as a disease, which can lead to serious health complications, such as diabetes, heart problems and depression. The good news is, with proper education about making healthy and active lifestyle decisions; we can prevent and eliminate obesity.
CMMC Foundation, in cooperation with local schools, is tackling obesity with our
LIFELINE CHALLENGE TO HEALTHY LIVING after school program. Now in 14 Essex, Bergen and Hudson County schools, the program combines instruction in nutrition and physical fitness for elementary-aged students.
In order to continue funding this program and other important wellness initiatives, we need your assistance. Our goal is to have at least 500 participants – we need your constituents, city and county employees and local businesses to register to walk or run.
