How to dress 4C Skants

First of all, step into the skants with the cotton strings hanging on the outside of your back.

Secondly, wrap the excess fabric across your front from one side to the other.

Next, bring the long cotton strings around to the front and tie them to secure the pants.

After that you may fold down the fabric above the strings.

Finally, Hurah! You are ready to go anywhere and do your favorite activities with 4C’s Yoga skants.

Cotton Caring Guide

Wash seperately by hand in cold or lukeworm water
Afterwards fine in a washing machine (use with mesh dunk bag to protect cotton fabric)
Do not use bleach or chlorine
Only mild detergent
Hang dry in shade
Do not soak for long periods
Medium iron setting

What is Ikat (Matmi) pattern? and How to make it?

• Dyeing one color over another is a technique used in Thailand for making Ikat (Matmi) pattern. The technique involves tying and dyeing sections of weft yarn to a predetermined color scheme or pattern before weaving. The areas of yarn which are tied resist the dye baths.

• To create weft Matmi, a wooden device called ‘Lakmee’ is used. This consists of two wooden dwels set part at opposite ends of a rectangular board to the same width as a dress. The yarn is tensioned backwards and forwards across the width of the Lakmee, and a skilled village woman then sits and ties the weft in the pattern required.

• When the dyeing process are completed the patterned weft is wound on to a bamboo frame ready for reeling. After reeling, the bobbins are used in strict sequence in order to weave the pattern correctly. To keep them in order the bobbins are often stung on to a length of twine. And they are ready to be weft for 4C’s clothing!
