She was launched in the year 1690 and was one
of the most beautiful Spanish galleons of the 17th century. Displacing
more than 1000 tons, and armed with 96 cannons, she was the lead ship
in the famous Spanish Armada. In 1705 she and 11 other galleons engaged
35 British ships for over 24 hours, but by the end of the furious
battle she lay at the bottom of the ocean with several tons of gold
still in her holds.
This incredible museum quality
model displays the San Felipe in all her glory. Standing 31", and with
a length of just under 40", this is a must have for any serious
collector of truly beautiful ships. She's an elegant reminder of the
days when the "tall ships" ruled the waves, and could be the
centerpiece of any collection.
