OLD AND RARE MAGNIFICENT SHIP MODELMADE OF MATCHSTICKS This
is an incredible ship model! It was made of matchsticks --
about 100 years ago. 4800 Hours of Labor and Love went into this ship
model. The ship itself is made of matchsticks - even the life boats and
house-like structures. The masts and the sails are not matchsticks, of course and the
sails are old and have some staining on them. Some of the rigging must
be repaired - meaning it just has to be put in the right places. And,
it must be dusted! I have heard
that a similar model is in one of the nautical museums in Oregon and I
am sure that there are other models out there. But, this one is unique
and is a "show stopper"!
The
ship is five feet long and four feet tall and comes with a stand.
It
measures 12 inches in width -not counting the life boats.

WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO FIND ANOTHER OLD MATCHSTICK SHIP FOR SALE?
A matchstick ship was recently listed on eBay for $50,000.00. Was it a typo or is it
really worth that amount of money? Items made of matchsticks or other
primitive materials have commanded very high prices in the folk art and
primitive art areas.
