Get "Ballads of a Cheechako" plus "The Spell of the Yukon and Other Verses"
Offering two remarkable, early 1900's books by Robert W. Service. Both are in very good shape for their age, particularly "The Spell of the Yukon and Other Verses". A bonus comes with that one, too.
Serious book collectors will appreciate the quality of these two hardback books, published by Barse & Hopkins of New York:
Ballads of a Cheechako, Copyright 1909 $150.00
Green cover and spine with gilted title. Pages in tact though spine is not tight throughout. Spine scuffed on edges and down side but not torn. Corners of cover are turned down a bit. There is some natural, aging discoloration on the front and back blank sheets inside the book and pages 50-52 have a slight bend to the top corner but are not torn.
The Spell of the Yukon and Other Verses, Copyright 1907 $350.00
Green cover and spine with gilted title. This book features a wonderful picture of Robert W. Service inside. The front of the book looks terrific. There is slight scuffing to the bottom and top of spine. All pages are in tact though spine is not tight throughout. The name P. K. Porch is stamped in the top of the front and back pages, in small letters. This is apparently the former owner of the book.
Bonus: There were some old poems, cut from newspapers of the day, inside this book and the page where they were placed, between pages 20 and 21, have some discoloration from the newsprint but are still readable. There was also an old photo, of a man in a varsity sweater with the letter A on it. These will be included with the book.
I'm selling the two as a set but would consider offers on tme individually if a collector already has one or the other.
