David Pritchard released a new blog this week titled Climbing Mountains in which he discusses the basics of rock climbing along with more advanced techniques,what climbing gear you should use, mountaineering equipment and safety aspects of the sport/hobby.
With articles from other writers David is putting together a plethera of ideas experiences and tips from around the world, from what gear to wear such as harnesses, rock climbing shoes and equipment to individual climbing exeriences.
David Pritchard is coming up to having 20yrs experience in climbing and mountaineering, mainly climbing in the Lakes District and Peak District but has also summer and winter experience in Scotland, has ascended Mt Kilimonjaro in Tanzania and a live volcano in Chile.
The release of the blog is a new idea and it's purpose is to give budding climbers using the internet as a resource, a view from experienced mountaineers and climbers around the world. Taking a look at different techniques and climbing skills to ensure the readers get a well rounded view of what rock climbing and mountaineering is all about. David intends to give informative information on equipment such as safety harnesses, helmets, rock climbing shoes, mountaineering clothing and boots.
With a close look at equipment used such as belay devices, karabinas, chocks and slings just some of the equipment needed to ensure a successful and enjoyable expedition or just a day on the rock face.
This newly launched blog will provide information on the importance of safety while climbing and rescue techniques in the forthcoming months, but for now David is concentrating on the begginingsand to provide a valuable resource of information for the climbing community.
