BlackBerry Pearl
Review.
Positive
The Pearl is compact in size, pretty much the size of a regular
cell phone. The download speeds on the internet are pretty fast but
it does slow down a little when downloading pictures. The email
features work great and you can open Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
files. It has a synchronization feature so you can update your
Outlook calendar and contacts on your PC straight from the phone.
While it does not have a full keyboard because of its small size it
is still easier to text on than most phones and it will also store
words so that you can just pick from a list as you are typing. The
trackball on the keyboard is also very handy and simulates using a
mouse. It will also play MP3's and video, I would recommend
upgrading to the 1gig SD card so that you can keep full length
movies on it, gives you something to do when you're on the plane.
Negative
The case has a glossy finish which looks nice but shows dirt and
fingerprints easily. The keys are kind of small so you have to be
careful when you are typing not to hit the wrong buttons. The
operating system can be a little confusing at first but does not
usually take very long to learn how to use.
