We treasure our Three Magi/Wise Men/Kings The miracle of Resurrection apparently so occupied early Christian thought that first chroniclers did not focus on Christ's long-awaited birth. About 75 years later, two later Gospel writers, physician Luke and tax collector Michael, chose to. Their two gospels document details found nowhere else. Both confirm Joseph had descended from King David, Mary and Joseph were engaged before the angel announced the miraculous conception of the Savior who would be named Christ, the birth was in Bethlehem, and the Holy Family ultimately settled in Nazareth. Between them, Luke and Matthew further clarify Mary and Joseph had left Jerusalem pay taxes in Bethlehem and prepare for Jesus' birth. They also say the Magi visited the Nativity and the family found refuge from Herod's wrath in Egypt before returning to Nazareth after his death. Many interpreters and artists have addressed the three Magi visitors. Matthew depicts them as the first Gentiles to recognize Jesus'significance, thus the very first worshippers. Falling before the Messiah-King, they presented extraordinary gifts: gold fitting a true king, frankincense recognizing the Son of God, and myrrh symbolizing His anticipated immortality. We are not sure which label handed down over time best describes these Magi, whom Western Christians later named Gaspar, Melchior, and Balthasar. The Greek word magoi covers magicians, fortune-tellers, priestly visionaries, and astrologers. Connecting them with the star, Matthew may have thought they were astrologers, but they could have been astronomers. Neither are we sure why, how, or from where Magi came. Many think they traveled from Babylonia or Persia. If they indeed asked King Herod about the arrival of a ruler who would upset his rule, they were probably Gentiles, not Jews. Magi were free to mix with kings and others in high places. Dedicated to traveling afar and gathering broad perspectives of the world, some represented kings, and all sought knowledge. Peers undoubtedly regarded them as sophisticated and wise. Having a star guide their path to the Nativity surely helped our three Magi grasp their mission's importance. After seeing the newborn Babe, they wisely went home another way to avoid the cruel despot Herod. Whatever the occupations of the Magi who found Jesus, they surely were three "wise men." Over generations of storytelling, they have further graduated to "kings" in the eyes of many. Though no records indicate any of them was one, artists, writers, and many cultures have embraced all three as kings. The Old Testament had said kings would come to the "brightness of dawn" (Isaiah) and bring gifts in tribute (Psalms). The three men of substantial stature who fell down before Christ recognized Him as the long-awaited King of the Jews. These already respected individuals gained even more esteem as they witnessed what they had seen. Those they told may have readily elevated them to "kings." Though scholars may question details, ordinary people worldwide treasure the story we have learned over the ages. Most of us simply want to celebrate Christ's birth. Content with our Magi, we are sure they were Three Wise Men and comfortable if they were Three Kings too. They are essential to our Nativity scenes, our hymns, and "everything Christmas." Maura F. Most items ship within 48 hours. Incoming items may take up to 7-10 days, sometimes a little less, sometimes a little longer. We DO NOT POST an item as backordered unless we know it will be unavailable for an extended time period. We stock so very many items, and orders are incoming 24 hours a day. When stock on an item reaches a low point, we reorder at that time. Depending on where your order is in the que, your order could ship from backup or from replenishment inventory. We do not mark these items as backordered because we know they are readily available and incoming on a shipment. Otherwise, we'd be updating an item as backordered on Monday, and back in on Tuesday, etc. We will email the order status as it changes if customers order and the item is backorder. Please wait at least seven days before inquiring about a shipment. We monitor our shipments constantly to be sure there is not a product issue; sometimes things can occur that cause a longer than expected ship time, but that instance is rare. Once an order is placed, it is in processing. Refunds for placed orders require approval from customer service and a valid reason. Arrival dates for backordered items are ESTIMATED and not guaranteed. Email us for back order list for our backordered Treasure Gifts, if you like. Don't forget that if a product is out of stock we will have to refund your money and customers would have to reorder the item.

We do not deal in antiques. Our depression glass for instance was not made in the 1920's and 1930's. If you see a vintage or antique style item, it is most likely a reproduction. Please ask if you are not sure.
There seems to be an expectation with some customers on the internet that you can order, ship and receive items instantly. We do try to expedite EVERY ORDER; rest assured we are working on your order the moment it is placed. However, once the order is placed, the payment must be processed, it is entered in the shipping system, the item must be pulled, packed, labeled, and shipped. Remember weekends and holidays also. If an item is at a low stock point, we've already reordered new inventory and it is on the way. Depending on the number of orders we have for that item, yours may ship from backup or from incoming; this is why some orders take 7-10 days sometimes. All incoming orders are subject to prior order processing, meaning if there is 99 of an item and 100 orders are placed, 99 are shipped right away and number 100 will ship as soon as replenishment arrives. Claims for damages, etc. require certain procedures. These procedures are email if your our customers need to place a claims. Shipping damages and breakage must be insured to qualify for replacement.

With the large amount of incoming orders, items do sometimes deplete stock. We reorder BEFORE they run out, but it will depend on where your item is in the que as to whether yours ships from backup inventory or the reordered inventory. Reordered inventory arrives daily; if we anticipate a long wait, we put the item in backorder. We utilize very reliable suppliers, so rest assured we and our manufacturers are doing everything we can to make sure orders get fulfilled timely.
We ship DHL, UPS and USPS. We offer FLAT RATES for shipping and these in our shopping cart at paypal payment. If we have and overside product their may be more shipping need to be added. if this should happen, we will email customers and our customers, will have a chose to pay the shipping or have their money refund.
