I’m a cheapscate. I hate to admit it, but I am. Whenever I buy anything that I think is a substancial investment, I will try to find it dirt cheap at first. I like to think of this as my “concentric circles of being a cheap-skate method.” (Copyright 2007 all rights reserved).
Anyway, whenever I decide to purchase something I will try to find it the cheapest method possible and then I will then try to find the next less cheaper method and eliminate each possible alternative before I throw my hands up , give in and then actually purchase something the regular way. For example, if I am trying to purchase a car I will look at alternate methods of purchasing a vehicle. I know, in fact, that all over the country the police impound cars from all sorts of situations. Whether it is a drug bust or delinquent payments on a vehicle, the government will seize a car and impound cars so that they can sell them at an auction later. There are several resources that I look at when I want to purchase a vehicle cheap and the one I thin is a good resource is a site called Government Auctions . (This will be my outer most ring.)
This also an excellent site for this that deals with police impoun cars bargains and seized properties of all sorts.
Then, working my way towards the center, I will look in newspaper ads for impounded cars or property. If I cannot find anything there, I will then find check several newspaper want-ad sections and yard sale sections next. You can also check all of the local newspaper listings online in your area to see if they have any other impounded cars or seized cars for sale.
After I have exhauseted this possibility, I then check all the online wholesale dealers. This is of course another step closer to the center of the circle of purchase rings. If I cannot find the car of my dreams there, I check all of the online auctions. e-Bay, Yahoo auctions etc. There are usually good deals to be found here and with some close scrutiny you can do to compare prices.

Finally, if I have exhausted all of these resources, I look at actually purchasing from dealers. ( There is a simple method you can use to get the best price possible, but I will talk about that later.) Now there is a way you can look at online and off line dealers and I would reccomend looking at them both.
