April is a 16 hh fully registered black AQHA mare. Her only marking is a white star on her forehead. April trailers, clips, bathes, ties, stands excellent for farrier and vet. She has been used previously for barrel racing and other western events, but most recently she has been used as a trail horse. On the trail she crosses water, has covered rough terrain without any problem, is not afraid of traffic, and does well riding with large groups. April is a very willing horse that has enough personality for an experienced rider, but is safe enough for an "advanced beginner," ie someone who has had a dozen or so lessons under their belt. I do not recommend her to a beginner only because, despite her age, when with other horses she likes to be first in the pack, which could intimidate some riders. This girl loves to go!
She has had farrier visits every 4-6 weeks (has never needed shoes), and she has been wormed regularly. No known history of colic or founder. April is an incredibly sound and reliable horse. Unfortunately owner must sell due to being too busy in college and not having time to ride.
Most importantly I would like to add that a good home is a MUST and that references from vet, farrier, etc are required. Buyer to pay pre-purchase vet exam and coggins expenses.
Price is negotiable to an approved home to facilitate a quicker sale!
