Solid Silver Armstrong Heritage Flute
Made in the USA by expert craftsman
The Heritage flutes are treasured by collectors and flutists players, from ages 14 to 104.
Heritage was a small separate division of Armstrong, and consisted of approximately four master flute craftspersons. Mr. Tom Green and Mr. Jack Moore, very well respected high end flutes makers, were a part of the Heritage division. The vintage Heritage flutes are not to be compared to today’s Armstrong Heritage flute, which is a mass produced flute that will not last more than a few years.
Each vintage Heritage flute is solid silver including the keys and mechanisms, with 18kt gold springs. The flutes were made to order, using a wide variation of wall thickness (from very light .012 to very heavy .20), with different key design styles from French key arms, French arms with cups, and standard Y-arm keys.
When a flutists needed a high end flute but could not afford the Haynes or Powell, they purchased a Heritage.
Winds101 has seen and played approximately 10 Heritage flutes. Every one has been a very unique flute, high in quality and wonderful in tone.
About This Heritage This is a rare thin wall custom made Heritage flute. It plays with a gorgeous voice from low to high. If I were to select a few flutes in our colletcion to keep for myself, this one would be on the list.
This is one of the nicest vintage instruments I have come across in years. It is far easier to play than my own thinwall custom made Powell flute, and holds its own in tone and range.
It is not too difficult to play, and could be used by an adult amature, talented student, conservatory student or jazz professional.
It is a very comfortable flute, with a lighter and smaller tube size, along with fast quiet flawless fast key action with a lighter touch. It has a very pure but colorful tone, and plays with ease from low to high.
The keys move fast and freely, and are softer tot the touch due to the 18kt gold springs.
This flute also features the french pointed key arms, which make it just a gorgeous flute to look at.

This flute plays from low to high with a gorgeous colorful tone, that is lighter due to the thin wall, and graceful.
This is a very rare find, and will continue to appreciate in the market over the years to come.
While this flute plays very well at this time, we have priced this flute with a repad, full clean oil and adjust before we ship.
This work will take approx. 3 weeks to complete and the new flutist will have a flute with a fresh repad and set up. The flute plays lovely now, and will sparkle and play like new when we complete the technical work.
