Iguana Care Bible and Free Tips
I love iguanas. They are one of the greatest lizards to ever roam the Earth. But since they are cold blooded reptiles, it is essential that you take care of them well or else they will not live long with you. From their environments to feeding, it is crucial that any Iguana owner follows the Dos and Donts of Iguana care.
Special Lighting and Heating, humidity, and other environmental factors can help prolong the life of your Iguana. However the MOST IMPORTANT factor in determining the lifespan of your Iguana is its DIET. What it eats will ultimately be the key to your Iguana's health and longevity. Iguanas require a diet that is high in calcium, low in phosphorus, and lots of Vitamin D3. Also remember to cut the food up into little pieces so that your Iguana can digest it rather easily.
IGUANA PET CARE ULTIMATE RESOURCE
Due to high concentrations of toxic chemicals, NEVER feed your iguana the following foods: tofu, soy, brocolli, brussel sprouts, kale, cauliflower, bok choy, spinach, rhubarb, beets, swiss chard, turnips, and cabbage. In captivity and as your pet, it is recommended that you should not feed your iguana any meat products including dog or cat food.
Also note that if you are a first time Iguana owner that Iguanas grow very fast so it is essential to be prepared by having a bigger tank. I have come across some great tips in the Iguana Care Bible which outlines and goes in depth every aspect of caring for your iguana.
