V.Q. Powell History
In 1915, V.Q. Powell creates his first flute by melting down his wife's silver wear (later referred to as the spoon flute).
This Powell
This flute is nearly new, used less than one year. No costmetic blemishes. The pads / corks look like new.
This Powell is solid sterling silver (headjoint, tubing, keys and mechanisms), with open holes, offset G, G disc or high E facilitator, french pointed key arms, gold springs, B footjoint, c-gizmo key, lovely cherry wood case, black leather powell outer carry case, rod.
The Sound
All Powell headjoints have similar characteristics that are referred to as “The Powell Sound”. Every Powell headjoint is known for its color, clarity, depth and projection. Each style is designed to fit many types of music, flute playing and players: as well as their individual requirements. Powell headjoints are made by professional flutists, who have been trained in the traditional style of headjoint making at Powell Flutes
