If you believe the ads on TV these days, you would think that entering a credit counseling program would end all of those harassing collection calls. Think again. What the ads don't mention is that it could take up to 3 months or more after entering a debt resolution program for the calls to stop. In the meantime, consumers are paying into a program with one hand and answering harassing calls with the other but that is about to change for the better.
New technology has arrived on the scene to end harassing collection calls and keep them from calling back. The DAAN system was originally developed by an attorney for consumer bankruptcy attorneys and it worked so well, DAAN has now been modified to serve the debt resolution industry and consumers who just want the calls to end.
The DAAN Group of Maumee, Ohio has chosen AAA Fair Credit Foundation of Salt Lake City, Utah to offer the DAAN system to consumers across the USA . "We chose AAA because we found them to be a true non-profit credit counseling agency", says Attorney Ken Jursinski, a founding member of the DAAN Group and co-inventor of DAAN. "I personally met with AAA’s CEO and visited their offices in Salt Lake. AAA is open, honest and truly concerned about their clients. That is the kind of organization I want to represent DAAN", adds Jursinski.
AAA offers DAAN in its "Collection Call Protection Program". AAA issues its phone-troubled clients a DAAN Home Transmitter Module immediately upon entering their program; the compact Module simply plugs into any phone jack in the home. One Module serves ALL of the phones in the home, even cordless. When a debtor answers the phone and it is a collector calling, the debtor just presses the star key on whatever phone he / she is on and hangs-up. The Module takes over advising the caller that a DAAN attorney will address the call and gives the caller the attorney’s phone number, but it doesn’t stop there. DAAN also advises the caller NOT to call back under possible penalty of law, then repeats the attorney’s phone number and automatically ends the call, all within 30 seconds. Upon calling the attorney, as is required by law, the collector is then directed to AAA who negotiates the debt on behalf of the debtor. One push of the star key and the debtor can now scratch that caller off the list, confident that AAA will handle the caller.
"We have so many individuals coming to us who are just overwhelmed and beaten down by the number of collection calls they receive almost daily. These are good people who have stumbled upon hard times and we are excited that we can now help our clients effectively eliminate those distressing calls while simultaneously facilitating direct and open communication with their creditors. This is truly a winning situation for all parties involved " said Preston Cochrane, President of AAA Fair Credit Foundation.
Testimonials back up the ease at which DAAN ends the calls and keeps them from calling back. "One of our DAAN users told us he had over 100 creditors calling him daily, After several days of DAAN use, his phone went silent, allowing him to return to a normal life, while his debt was being addressed ", Jursinski says. "Another lady told us DAAN saved her marriage", he added. Best of all, the cost is only about 40 cents a day for unlimited use.
