There a couple of things you should know! Firstly it is not as easy as it seems, it is not just the case of listing your item and people will rush to buy it!
There are a few things you can do to start making money from Ebay:
Make sure your listing is clear, concise and explains the product well, always include an image as well as some buyers are put off whenthey can not see the product.
Make sure you have a title that will attract people to have a look at your auction it should include keywords that will attract people, what I sometimes do is look at Ebay Pulse which will tell you the most popular keywords being searched for on Ebay and if the product you are selling matches the keywords then remember to add them!
Another little trick I use to make money on ebay is to always put on my listing a line of text saying something like "Remember to click the watch this item link you will not be dissapointed!"
Why do I do this? Because if you get enough people watching your item it will appear on the most watched items list and you will get loads of traffic and more bids!
You should also be prepared to use the featured listing option it is a bit more pricey but the sales generally always outway the costs.
So if you follow these rules you will soon be making money on Ebay , and then you just continue to do more of the same.
