Re: How To Make Your Own Biodiesel
Dear Friend,
The price of fossil fuel is steadily climbing – and you and your family are feeling it every single time you fill up at the pump. If you commute to work on a daily basis, you spend as much as $50 or even $100 every week just to fill your tank with diesel.
Over the course of a year, you will spend as much as $5500 simply to get to work! That's quite a NEGATIVE bonus for commuting.
You might think that time will solve this problem, as many do. In time, technology will improve, which will lower prices, right? Unfortunately, that isn't quite true in this case...
Many have tried to blame high prices for petroleum in the United States on Hurricane Katrina, which knocked out a fraction of our domestic capacity to refine oil, creating a supply shock, which in turn raised prices. Others have blamed high prices on low levels of investment in oil infrastructure and outdated technology, since many of our refineries were built in the 1970s.
Unfortunately, solving the problem isn't as simple as repairing the refineries – nor is it as simple as investing in new oil refining technology...
Even after all of the refineries are restored – and even if more money is spent to increase our capacity to refine oil domestically – the price of petroleum products will continue to rise. This is because fossil fuels are a finite resource that take millions of years to create.
In fact, countries that have oil – namely those part of OPEC – know the exact amount they have in “reserve” -- or still in the ground.
While many drivers would guess that this resource simply cannot be exhausted, it actually can and is. Can you guess how many years experts approximate are left before it is completely exhausted? 150 years? 100 years? 80 years? In fact, it is none of these...
Most experts project that all known reserves of oil will be depleted in a mere 30 years, which is quite a grim forecast, given our heavy dependence on this form of energy.
With the United States fiercely resisting the transition to alternative forms of energy and with China's economy doubling in size every 7 years... and with developing countries growing at absurdly fast rates, oil reserves may run out even earlier than that.
While we might not know the exact date, one thing IS certain: total oil reserves are going down, NOT up. As this scarce resource becomes even more scarce, its price will continue to climb, as we have already seen.
If you think $3 for a gallon of diesel is bad, just wait until the price climbs to $4 and $5... and then $6. What will you do? When you will you stop waiting for it to drop?
You can do one of two things: you can WAIT and HOPE that everything will work out. You can HOPE prices will go down, even though you KNOW that isn't going to happen. OR...
You can take ACTION -- you can create your own solution.
No, I'm not talking about siphoning diesel out of other cars at night. I'm talking about a solution that is not only legal, but ethical, too... and, best of all, inexpensive and renewable!
So what is it?
Introducing...

How To Make Your Own Biodiesel
Diesel cars and trucks are well-known for having powerful engines, but they might be even better known for spewing out pollution and emitting a horrible stench, similar to rotten eggs.
Worst of all, it costs about as much to power a diesel vehicle as it does to power a gas vehicle.
But this isn't how it has to be. In fact, you can transform your current diesel vehicle to be CLEANER than gas-electric hybrids AND cheaper to operate, no matter what happens to oil in the next 5, 10 or even 20 years.
Using Biodiesel, your car will be able to:
- Emit water, rather than foul-smelling exhaust and carbon dioxide.
- Use renewable resources for fuel, rather than relying on fossil fuels, which the Earth takes millions of years to produce.
- Operate for several hundred dollars each year, rather than a minimum of $5500.
If what I've listed above sounds even mildly appealing, you will want to learn more about Biodiesel and how you can make it.
So what is Biodiesel?
Biodiesel is a non-toxic, biodegradable form of fuel, which is made from biological components, rather than diesel.
Biodiesel is generally made from animal fats or vegetable fats – and can be created at home, in contrast to normal diesel, which must be purchased at the pump.
One important thing to understand about Biodiesel is that it is NOT used in the same way as straight vegetable oil or waste vegetable oil, even though Biodiesel is often confused for these two alternative fuels.
Biodiesel is used as a MODIFIED form of vegetable or animal oil, rather than a straight or waste oil product, which is used in a modified vehicle, but is not modified itself.
This means that you do NOT need to install a converter on your diesel vehicle to use it. This will save you an easy $800-1500 simply by choosing Biodiesel over similar forms of alternative diesel fuels – and that's only looking at the cost to start using it!
Much like ethanol grades, Biodiesel comes in a number of different grades, which are marked by their
Biodiesel content. Diesel mixtures that contain 40% Biodiesel and 60% diesel are marked “D40” at gas stations, similar to “E40” markings you may have seen at the pumps this summer.
And best of all, you can use Biodiesel in any concentration you prefer. Unlike other diesel substitutes, Biodiesel doesn't have to contain a certain amount of vegetable content or a certain amount of diesel content. In fact, you can create 100B grade Biodiesel or you can create 10B Biodiesel. Either will run in a modern car.
To make things even better, Biodiesel has a higher viscosity than normal diesel and will burn cleaner AND quieter. If you're sick of hearing your engine rumble, Biodiesel is your solution. And if you're sick of smelling disgusting diesel emissions, Biodiesel is also your solution.
But Doesn't Biodiesel Degrade Your Engine?
No, it doesn't. There are a number of rumors floating around that Biodiesel degrades pumps and hoses, but it does NOT. Biodiesel can arguably degrade RUBBER hoses and pumps, but almost all cars made after 1992 do NOT use rubber hoses and pumps – and if a car was made before 1992, those pumps and hoses should be replaced, anyway, as they degrade over time.
Additionally, Biodiesel has a higher viscosity than normal diesel, which actually helps to keep your engine clean and running longer.
Great. So Where Can I Buy Biodiesel?
While you CAN buy Biodiesel for your vehicle, finding stations that offer Biodiesel is quite hard, even though it is becoming more popular. Additionally, if you BUY Biodiesel, rather than making it, you will pay MORE than you would for normal diesel, which you do not want to do.
Now, if you make your own Biodiesel, you will not only save THOUSANDS of dollars, but you can also create it with products you can find around your own house, at your local grocery store, or at the restaurant downtown (for free), saving you the time you would otherwise spend driving out to a station that actually carries Biodiesel – or ordering a massive tank over the Internet.
Do I Need A Ph.D In Chemistry To Make Biodiesel?
Fortunately, making Biodiesel is a relatively simple process. Even if you have never cracked a chemistry book in your life, you can make Biodiesel. In fact, most people who make Biodiesel have no background in chemistry at all.
All you need to create Biodiesel is a step-by-step guide and the patience to stick with it until you understand the process well enough to make it fast and to use waste oils, rather than completely fresh oil. Once you reach this point, you will be able to create a virtually unlimited amount of Biodiesel for free.
So Let's Reiterate...
If you make AND use your own Biodiesel, you can:
- Save THOUSANDS of dollars on fuel.
- Save time that would otherwise be spent searching for and buying alternative forms of diesel.
- Avoid future increases in the price of diesel.
- Reduce the amount of pollution you generate, including carbon dioxide, which is responsible for global warming.
- HELP your engine, instead of hurting it!
- Drive without the irritating scent of burning diesel.
- Make fuel safely and inexpensively in the comfort of your own home.
If that sounds good to you, then move on to the next step, which is to...
