Cold War Era: Political Paranoia 2-DVD Set

The Cold War was not a war of guns or steel. It was a battle of ideas - yet people lived in constant fear. The government and the media had convinced the people that the Soviet Union could start a war to end life on earth at any time. Even more striking was the fear that communists could be living in our midst! The government felt they had to educate the population about how the red menace could end freedom from sea to shining sea!

Therefore they created a series of propaganda films designed to foster paranoia and make people terrified of the communist threat. That paranoia was the heart of the Cold War!

I use the Internet for purchasing goods I require from anywhere in the world I can get the best deal. (I consider the world my supermarket, or mega mall).

I expect a premier service by using the Internet method as I am dealing in cash with every transaction, but seldom receive the service I expect.

My dealings with a2zcds.com do fit in to my expectations of service profile of e-shopping and exceed these expectations in after sales service and customer care skills. Thanks again!

This must be the true essence of the Internet since its inception! (I have been using the Internet since the 1980s).

How Did The Cold War Begin?

The Soviet Union pushed out the Germans from Eastern Europe during World War II. After the war, the leaders of the Soviet Union refused to withdraw from the territory it acquired during the war and brought the people under their control. America feared that this was part of a communist agenda for world domination! They felt that Soviet actions required a serious response to protect freedom, democracy and capitalism. The United States responded to the Soviet threat.

EDITORIAL REVIEW:

Propelled by its mounting fear of a communist take over -at least ideologically - the United States lost no time in responding to this threat by launching a massive educational attack on its citizens - school children and all. This near paranoia translated itself into the production of some classy educational documentaries and some of the best among these can be examined in this DVD.

While the ideologies contained in them may seem far-fetched by today’s standards, the films are technical masterpieces with great story lines, fabulous picturization, graphic reenactments and exciting narration and provide a great ‘feel’ of the fears that gripped the nation. Seldom is such a fabulous collection of films on the cold war found on a single set of DVDs.

See what the cold war meant to a nation that had vowed to guard democracy at any cost in this engrossing set of DVDS that a2zcdscom has so painstakingly compiled.
