Christmas Gifts for Boys When I was a kid, I wanted a gun for Christmas. It could be a toy rifle or a toy colt revolver. But a toy train was good. The stuff my dad thought was so great, a toy stationary engine that I could never get to work, were of interest but not quite as exciting. My dad always thought I should be an engineer (which I was when I worked for a living). One thing, if we got anything for Christmas it was only one thing. That is all the money my parents could scrap up. When my older siblings started to work, a few other gifts were received. We always lined up by age to enter the living room or the parlor to get our Christmas goodies. My older brother always said I was going to get a lump of coal and stick of wood. Actually, we did play with the coal and wood on the kitchen floor. We would build log cabins with the kindling wood. Pat and I had five children and four (4) were boys. Now two of them are grandfathers, the other two not quite there yet. My oldest son is a neurosurgeon. Number 2 Son is an anesthesiology. Both are also pain specialist. Number 3 Son is a vet. He has two Internet Businesses, Irish Flute Store and Home-Grown Herbalist. I helped him set up his web sites. My youngest son has five kids including a set of triplets. So he has twin boys, part of the set, and three girls. I just visited them for a few day with two of my older teenage granddaughters in Seattle. The older girls had never been to a large city so they had a ball. My youngest son is the only one of our children who is not in medicine. He is an attorney in Tacoma helping people get their finances in order. Now days, boys want expensive stuff for Christmas, electronics and such.
