Canada Scott #13 (Stanley Gibbons #27) 6d Brown Violet Perforated, 1859 An extraordinarily fresh mint single of this rare and difficult stamp from 1859 with ORIGINAL GUM, possessing incredibly deep fresh color in a rich brown violet shade, crisp detailed impression, full even perforations which are frequently lacking on most copies, mathematically and actually perfectly centered for this value despite the perforations being slightly in at bottom. Some gum disturbance and reperforated at bottom as stated in certificate but still an undeniably appealing example of this impossible issue. Extra Fine: not only are the first perforated stamps of Canada rare but invariably the perforations encroach on at least one side of the design, which is the way they are valued in the catalogs: the example offered here is far above the norm in its freshness and attractiveness. So much rarer than the 12d Black and way undervalued in catalogue as mint examples are rarely offered. Fabulous opportunity for the very savvy Canada collector with Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation 2012 Certificate. Catalog Value: $60,000.00+ Our Price: $29,995.00 CAD
